Robots, Rus, Revolting Peasants, German Minenwerfer Crew, Old School Dwarves, and More!

Hello Dearest Distinguished Viewers or Accidental Visitors,

I recently finished painting an almost random selection of miniatures and took pictures of them.

First up are seven Old Glory Robots.

I painted the least exciting models first.  I was hoping I could come up with an good paint scheme, before moving on to their more exciting robot poses.  I think they will fit my zombies.

Here are three Old Glory Rus models.

I've got a more almost complete, but their shields aren't done.

Here are eight Old Glory large minenwerfer crew.  I still need to paint the minenwerfers.

Some Old Glory Revolting Peasants.  Their weapons are huge.

Finally something not Old Glory, here are three ancient Grenadier dwarves.

You can still get these models, from Mirlton miniatures.  Mine are sort of beat up from years in a lead pile.

Here are five more.  They'll be great for Dragon Rampant or Chaos Wars.

I really need some of the Bat Riding Dwarves.

Here are two Ral Partha dwarf crossbows and an Grenadier plastic crossbow from the Fantasy Warriors box set.

Here are two more plastic Grenadier dwarves and a bit of scatter scenery.

Here's a Perry plastic British rifleman, a metal Warlord Prussian casualty, and a Warlord plastic Prussian with a Victrix head.

Running away from the icky dead body.

Lastly a Games Workshop plastic Gondorian and a RAFM/Games Workshop Dr. Who Unit model.  I found the Unit guy in the flgs Active Imagination's bit box.

Till next time, when I should have some Prussians, Rus, Robots, and 40K Imperial Guard (Asstro Mili-terrarium).

Giant Stompy Robot, WW1 French, and Pike and Shot and Zombie Action; Clearing the Village of the Dead!

Hello,

I only have a couple minis finished for today; next time I promise at least 20ish.

First up is a toy painted up for the battlefield as a big stompy robot, or mech, or little titan.  I think it's a Robotech toy.  You'll quickly notice the boring base, littered with junk to hide how boring it is.  I need to watch the Youtube videos where they base big models on corkboard and it looks all rocky and exciting.

Here he is after killing one of my garden gnomes.   Next you'll notice that I forgot to age that barb wire, it's currently hideous.  Then how I forgot to cover up the screws in his back.

Here he is with a littler version, painted a few months ago.

I've lost his antenna and clear plastic cockpit cover, sad face.
Here are his feet with a couple space marines for a size comparison.
The puddle is clear nail polish.

Here's four early war WWI Frenchmen.  The models are the from Battle Honors.
The models are quite static, much like their war.

Reverse:  I know the backpacks are the wrong color.

Here's an accompanying machine gun, which is also the wrong color.

Now on to the Zombie action!

Our company of five mercenaries has been hired to clear the small village, surrounding the bridge of the walking dead.  Right this looks easy.

Here is a terribly taken blurry picture of the team.
We advance confidently and start the enjoyable smashing of the dead.  Mario the Unlucky wanders off by himself.
Aha, there's a spawn point for the bastards.  We'll smash that up and then we should be done.
Fritz and Captain Hauser decide to handle the dirty work of closing the portal.  Mario the Unlucky rejoins the group.
Happy zombie smashing away....dangest there's another spawn point across the creek.
Double Dangest these zombies,  a third portal opens up north of the second one, when Mario shoots his damned fire stick.
Brave handsome Fitz (me) closes the first hellspawned portal.
Mario the unlucky has wandered off again, while the rest of us gather to cross the bridge.
Captain Hauser appears to be taking forever, but he's got a grenade to toss.
The third portal is belching out unbelievable numbers of walkers.
There are too many of them....
From both sides...walking right  past ineffectual grenades.....
Oh terrific, a fourth pit of evil awakens on the side of our escape route.  And look there's Mario on the bridge shooting his stupid noisy loud handgun of missing.
Carl the Beer Slayer's human player has tried a quite clever trick of adding terrain to the table when the evil game judge Mike isn't looking.  Brilliant!

Once again I shart myself, as another spawning point shows up on the bridge.
Brave heroic stalwart honest Fritz attacks the bridge monsters.  Mario and Cap'n Hauser must be inspired by his incredible bravery.
Carl the Beer Slayer is pulling one of Mario's plays and running off on his own.  It actually helps out quite alot and takes some of the heat off the team.  He's picking them off at a steady rate with his handy crossbow.  Carl will take out their portal after he's dispatched this small pack.
Hurray Fritz has closed the portal.  He's the best.
 Christopher took out another portal.

Only one portal left.
The team will quickly close that and be home before dark.  Carl has time for a nap before he rolls a one and goes carousing.
Till next time, when I'll have early war WWI Germans and some other random minis.  Hopefully more Pike and Shot and Zombie action will happen too.

hugs and kisses,
Love,

Weapons of the Imperial Guard

I prefer historical miniatures over fantasy and sci-fi, but I have a very soft spot for Game Workshop's 40K Imperial Guard. I've been buying the little guys for over twenty years and have hordes of them.

I am posting pictures to show the evolution of Guard weaponry. You'll quickly see the technology is decreasing as the weapons are getting bigger, but you'll also notice the factories are making at least a better looking product.

First is heavy bolter. I have found eight versions of this weapon. Left to right: 1. this ancient little heavy bolter dates back from the days of the Imperial Army; 2. a metal heavy bolter, anti-grav technology allows a regular human to carry these large weapons; 3. slightly different plastic version; 4. an early Cadian heavy bolter, the grav technology is lost and now they have to have wheels to move these beasts; 5. Unless you're strong as a marine like this Last Chancer; 6. the new Cadian plastic, I don't know how two guys are supposed to carry it around; 7. a newer Vostroyan one with drummed ammo; 8. a tarantula with really large heavy bolters, I think they really belong on servitors.
Autocannons are not as common throughout the ages and I only have two pictures for you: 1. old metal Cadian; 2. new plastic Cadian.

Only two regular mortars and a mole mortar here. 1. metal; 2. newer plastic; 3. lost technology from a silly weapon called the mole mortar manned by plastic squats. The round would travel underground to the target. I glued a regular mortar to one of them so I could called it a "counts as" mortar.
Missile launchers. 1. Plastic launcher stolen from a plastic beakie marine; 2. actually a GW Rogue Trooper; 3. I'm only pretty sure this is a GW launcher; 4. Catachan with lighter launcher and stand; 5. Mordian version without face plate and stand; 6. Steel Legion version that looks more like what all these weapons really are, rocket grenades or just plain rockets; 7. plastic Cadian.
Flamers. 1. ancient model titled "ex-tech" whatever that means; 2. a beakie with flamer (none of my Guard with stolen weapons are painted); 3. Mordian; 4. plastic Catachan; 5. Cadian plastic; 6. Vostroyan version.
Plasma guns. 1. first metal version; 2. stolen plastic plasma gun from an unknown kit; 3. Catachan metal; 4. Cadian metal
Meltaguns. 1. Squat with early version; 2. Mordian; 3. Cadian
Demo Charges. 1. Catachan; 2. Last Chancer
Grenade launchers. 1. Really big Imperial Army version; 2. smaller RT version; 3. Mordian; 4. stubby little Steel Legion version; 5. plastic Cadian.

Lascannons. 1. Original metal; 2. original plastic; 3. a different (horribly painted) plastic on a tarantula; 4. metal Cadian; 5. metal Steel Legion; 6. longer plastic Cadian with converted wiring system.
Ripper guns. 1. older; 2. newer
Sentinels. 1. RT egg shaped walker; 2. Metal Cadian (modified for support role); 3. plastic with metal armor
Long lost Human Bomb. Politically incorrect suicide bombers of the Emperor.
Heavy Stubber and Hunter Killer. GW never made us proper man portable versions of these weapons, so I made my own. 1. Actually a Renegade Miniatures WW1 Vickers machine gun with IG bits; 2. Hunter-killer simply planted on a heavy weapons tripod.
