Albuquerque Zombie Center

Would anyone like to get together and run a game at the Battle in the Bosque of the Battle at the Bosque?

Here are some pictures of a 4' x 8' table based on the Albuquerque Garden Center that I'm nearing completion on. I really only need to finish the indoor floor plan and add more outside vegetation.

My initial plan was zombies versus miniature wargaming enthusiasts, but it could be used for any 25-28mm modern or sci-fi gaming. I just don't have time to buy and learn a new set of rules; I prefer making junk more than running games.

The second problem is that the stupid thing won't fit in my stupid car, and I would need help driving the two 4' x 4' pieces a couple miles to the Garden Center.

Grognards, Blucher, Lutzow, Austrian Victrix Landwehr Sprues

Hello,

I've almost finished painting a 24 piece Victrix French Old Guard Grenadiers.  They pretty much need a clear dull coat and thier basing finished.  I am not leaving the command staff on GW bases; they are only white glued to those to aid in painting/handling.

I hope I did the top of the bear skins correctly

I would be done with the Grenadiers, but starting painting these for the New Mexico State Fair.  NM has military models and miniatures as a category in the Arts and Crafts competitions.  The models aren't really that shiny in person, I left a gloss on the horses, in the hopes that it would make them look sweaty.  I hope I win a ribbon, will find out Tuesday.  The judges are from the Albuquerque Scale Modelers club and the competition will probably be tough.
General Blucher/ADC and General Lützow

I recently picked up a box of Austrian Landwehr to make Prussian Freikorps Jaegers and Brunswick Jaegers; I thought others may be interested in what you get. There's 56 minis for 30 something dollars, not bad.

Hello,

command sprues, you get TWO of these

regular sprue, you get EIGHT of these, only 3 body types

here's the standards you can cut out and use, if you don't like making your own

Nerds, Dead People, and a Robot

Hi,

I haven't finished anything historicalish since my last post, but I have completed a few models.  First are some Reaper brand Geeks and Nerds.   I think they'll make nice survivers for modern and zombie games.

Next is a Reaper brand robot and what I think is a GW chaos cultist from the 1990's.   I found him in the FLGS (Active Imagination) bits bin.  Apparantly chaos encoLaurages their cultists to spend alot of time at the gym.  Of course you'd have to have big guns to carry the ridiculously big guns of the 41st millenium.
sorry for the blurry

Lastly a few more zombies, I've finally finished my Victory Force 50 for $50 deal and need to buy another.  The two skimpily clad dead are actually Reaper brand zombie strippers.

Next time I'll have Grognards and more random bits bin finds.

Prussian Lutzow Freikorps, nuns with guns, and a few Zombies

Hi,

I haven't posted for ages, due to moving.  I finally have a place to live and am getting the internet.

Here's a few minis I've painted.   Alot more to come soon as I've nearly finished a rather large batch.

First is some Prussian Lutzow Freikorps using Perry plastic Prussian Fusilier models.  My next Nappies will be Victrix Old Guard Grenadiers.

Next are some unknown "nuns with guns" models.  I have a few more of these to paint.

Lastly are few mediocrely painted at best zombie models, the two on the far left are old Wargames Factory, the third from the left is a Marvel Heroclix "moleman" slashed up with the x-acto to make a zombie, and the rest are all Victory Force zombies.  The Victory Force models are all suffering various amputations.

More Nappies and undead coming soon.

Citadel Clerics, Vicious Voltiguers, and Tiny Tables

Hi,

I've painted a five more old Citadel Clerics.    It's amazing how much easier larger 28m fantasy models are to paint than Napoleonics.   The one below is reading the adventures of Saint Attila.

O LORD!, bless this Thy hand grenade that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy. And the Lord did grin and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and large chu...

Speaking of Nappies, here are six French Voltiguers.  I bought them used and painted over previous work.  I love used minis, no priming.  I think they are Front Rank Figurines, but I'm not sure as every Front Rank Colpack wearing model I've seen have longer plumes and not tiny little pom poms.

They are based on little home-made magnet movement trays, so they can be removed for skirmish games.  Two of them are missing their muskets.  I'll have to find some.  Their open hands make me want to glue incorrect objects in them.  Perhaps I'll make them pull rickshaws or a chariot.

Here's another little table for a future zombie game, for when zombies attack a miniature wargame convention.  It's the first table not copied from an Enfilade 2012 game; I saw it on the Camino Real Wargamers Yahoo site; and it looked easy to recreate, but as you can see it turned out more like boring poop.

Zombies aren't particularly concerned with my unimaginative terrain.
Here's another non-Enfilade table, just an imaginary section of castle wall with woods encroaching dangerously so.  There's no legs, because table leg production is dull work and my quality control on table leg length is terrible.  I will mass produce table legs, when I have enough table tops to make it worth my effort.  Next Enfilades table I plan on plagiarizing are Chris Craft's Vietnam game and Lloyd Bowler's Viking Run.

I'm almost finished with a box of Perry Plastic Prussians painted as Lutzow's Freikorps.  They only need some highlighting, touch-ups, basing, and a clear coat.

Old Citadels, LOTR Minis, Zombie Survivors, and a Couple Dragoons

Hi,

I've recently finished painting a few random models that had sitting at the back of the painting cue for ages.

These are three old Citadel Clerics.  I don't believe Warhammer Fantasy uses clerics anymore, but one could probably mix them in with a Flagellant unit.

Look how big our hands are!

Here's three random LOTR models.  I painted the human armor three times, but couldn't make it look like the movie.  At least they're painted, I'll probably never use them for anything.

Here's two humans that I'm calling survivors for zombie gaming.  The one on the left is a mechanic from Prince August's sci-fi line.  The picture came out bad; that dog turd in the middle of his face is a cigar and a poorly painted/badly sculpted mustache.

The mad scientist looking fellow is probably from Grenadier's Call of Cthulhu line.  Or maybe RAFM, I can't remember and I'm not ripping him off the base to check.

It's Ronald McDonald's angry older brother.
I painted up four more dismounted Perry plastic French Dragoons.

Now there is finally enough for a small Black Powder or Sharpes Practice unit.
Where the F did our horses go?

More Mini Mini Tables

Hi,

I've made a few more mini mini tables.  The one on the left is a rough copy of what I believe was a Star Fleet Battles game, but I couldn't find it on the Enfilade events listing.

Zombies don't enjoy the record keeping in games like Star Fleet Battles or Battletech.
The middle board is supposed to be Mike Garcia's "Dino Hunt" game.  I forgot to glue on the cave and attempts at green stuffing dinosaurs resulted in fail.

The right board is a naval battle.  Gray spots on a blue table seemed really dull, so I set one "ship" on fire and attempted at some splashes to simulate rounds falling short of the target.
