Prussian Landwehr Cavalry, Rogue Trader, Ammo Boxes, and More

Hello,

First completed project for the day are some Foundry Prussian Landwehr Cavalry.  I didn't put the little fanions on because I didn't feel like it.  I don't know what region they're from yet, so I don't know what color to paint them.
Flee!!! It's a giant Confucius!

Next up are some old Rogue Trader era GW models.  Starting on the left is a Chainsaw Warrior model, an "Adventurer" female model labeled "Mad Punk" (she has a Vox), an Imperial Garrison Trooper named Kylla Condotti, and an Imperial Light Trooper named No-Face Fargo.  Chainsaw Warrior was a 1987 GW game where the players traveled around post apocalyptic New York killing zombies and mutants.

They're all standing in front of munitions crates I painted; no idea of manufacturer.   They'd make decent objectives for a sci-fi game

Next is mash up of some spikey plastic mage knight monster thing and a GW two faced mutant head.  On the right is a repainted heroclix Penguin model with some GW guns added.

Three Old Glory War of Religion handgunners.

Lastly are two GW fantasy dark elves attacking an old Grenadier human.  The elves are very stupid models; the weapons being so big that it's ridiculous.

I hope to have a unit of Austrian Grenz up next week as well as some random miniatures.

Love,
Baconfat

Foot Sergeants, Crossbows, Archers, Zombies, and Shipping Containers

Hello,

It's been awhile since I posted pictures of toys.  Here are 16 Fire Forge brand Foot Sergeants.  Need to start buying decals; painting shields takes too long.  Fire Forge plastics come in boxes of 48, so I'm going to make 16 crossbows! (no stupid shields) and 16 spearmen next.

On the far right is an Old Glory (OG) Tuetonic Foot Sergeant I painted at the same time to see how'd they match up.  They don't OG versions are smaller and all wear the same exact outfit.  The OG are extremely quick paints though.

Next up is a mix, left to right:  OG Hussite crewman, OG Hussite hand gunner, 2 OG crossbows, and 3 old Grenadier Crossbows (came out shortly before they went out of business).

Five Grenadier archers, wish I had more of these models.

A smathering of Games Workshop (GW) models:  OOP metal Greatsword, 2 OOP plastic duelers?, 2 plastic artillery crew.
Four plastic Wargames Factory Zombie Vixens, a long OOP GW metal Commissar, a lonely Victory Force zombie dancing the robot.
Here's a bunch of mobility shipping containers I got super cheap at a NHMGS Enfilade Convention.  They were about $.17 cents a piece, probably being factory rejects, but still a pleasure to paint.
 Close up blurry action shot.

Thank's for viewing, please tell me I'm great.

Love and Kisses Baconfat!

Darkest Africa Terrain: Tembe and Village with Huts

Hello,

I haven't posted in quite awhile, because I've been busy making a friend some terrain.  He's running a Darkest Africa game next weekend at the Caminorealgamers convention: Gameday 2K13.

The first up is an African Tembe, with a removable roof.   The main entrances are not complete.  Please ignore the out of period minis.

I sculpted little bits and bobs.

Here is a small walled village.

The huts are removable, so that they may be used in other scenarios.

The hut roofs are removable, but the interiors aren't really done and they all really need doors.

The huts will nest in each other as well.  The roofs are made out of painted cloth and are stackable for storage.

Till next time, thanks for viewing.

Crossbowmen and Some Terrain Progress

Hello,

I haven't finished very many models since last post.

First are some Old Glory crossbowmen; they're a mix of Germans and Hussites.

"Snap the picture quick, it's straining to hold an awkward Old Glory pose for too long"

Next is a Manlet!  An Old Glory Bohemian (?) archer and two of what I believe are old Citadel D&D clerics.
"Beware the Hobby Horse of DOOM!!!!!!!!!!"

I've been making the skeletons of some more damaged city terrain.  These are a few smaller several level building.
models and cars for scale purpose, I was not moving them around and making explosion noises

Here's a couple larger buildings.  On one I've started covering exposed foam core, prior to spray priming.

In the lower left hand corner is the box cutting knife of doom, I nearly cut off two more fingers making these.  Until I'm drunk enough to do stitches, they're held on with super glue, sticky tack, and clear tape.

Till next time, when I might have another pack of Old Glory/Grenadier crossbows, Grenadier archers, some Prussian, or even some military shipping containers!

Mithril Miniatures, Zombies, Fireforge Foot Sergeants, and More

Hi,

I've finished painting a few more models.  First are six Gondorian archers released in 1994 by Mithril Miniatures, but are no longer in production.

Next are some female zombies.  The one on the left is heroclix model (named Saturn Girl) painted up as a policewoman, with a transplanted head.   The rest are Wargames Factory Zombie Vixens, one of them is wearing Saturn Girl's head.

here are some Victory Force Zombies.  During a sale, I bought one of their zombie bundles ages ago and I never seem to run out of more to paint.  These bring the painted horde up to 121 walking, crawling, shambling dead.

Instead of finishing their bases, I added some iPod wires to the effeminate looking fellow

A couple random models, first is a heroclix Kingpin model repainted to just be a large civilian, second an ugly long OOP 1988 Iron Claw/Citadel space pirate stupidly named "Nightwing", and lastly a 1992 GW Imperial War Wagon crew member with a blunderbuss.

three deformed models, I wish I could shoulder fire weapons bigger than my leg

I opened up a box of Fireforge foot sergeants and took a few pictures.

You get two of these base sprues.
boring

You get four of these people sprues allowing you to make 48 foot sergeants, which may include up to 24 crossbowmen.

exciting
Here's a comparison pic next to an Old Glory foot sergeant and an old GW Bretonnian model.

After cutting one of my fingers off removing the sergeants from the sprue, I decided to not waste the spurting blood and painted some blood in one of the large buildings I'm working on.  I may have overdone it.

I super-glued my finger back on and it seems to working fine.  Except I can't hit shift and the h key at the same time. I probably should have pinned the bone, it'll be embarrassing if falls off in the middle of the game. I hope to have some Prussian cavalry cavalry and eastern European crossbowmen painted next time.

Victrix Lutzow Free Corps Jagers and a Three Wolf Moon

Hello,

I've finished a Prussian unit, Lutzow's Free Corps Jagers.  The models are actually Victrix plastic Austrian Landwehr (1808-1815) models, but they were close enough.

The Jagers were allowed to wear their gray Tyrolean national uniforms, probably because nobody wanted to pay for a switch.  I picked them for the change of color, wanting a change from Prussian blue.   I am ready to paint blue again.

"Minwax dip burns my unpainted eyes"

Why are jager models in the marching pose?  Because the Victrix boxes come with 56 models, and I'll do action poses some other day.

Here's most of my Prussians; I'm going to have to buy more soon.
When all your lead is painted you die

Lastly I crudely tried to paint a "Three Wolf Moon" t-shirt on a Victory Force zombie.  The model isn't done yet, but it makes me giggle and wanted to share.

The Alpha Male Zombie strikes fear in the hearts of men and is irresistible to women
Hopefully the magical healing powers associated Three Wolf Moon shirts will cure his deadness.

Warlord Dacian Falxmen, Rogue Trader Models, and my First Horrible Sculpt

Hello,

I've finished a unit of Warlord Games Dacian falxmen.  Warlord Dacians are their Celts with a bag of metal parts thrown in allowing you to convert the models to Dacians.

I usually make units of 24, no idea why I only painted 21 and screwed up my normal basing system

The metal pouch contains a metal leader, musician, falxmen torsos, Dacian heads, and various weapons.
There only three falx torsos, but there loose falx allowing you to add falx to plastic open handed models; I chose not to do that.

three metal torso options
Here's three Iron Claw Space Pirates, from 1998.  Iron Claw was a sister company eventually absorbed by Citadel.  Bob Olley sculpted these models, but probably doesn't like people to know that; they're barely in scale with each other.  I tried to paint them as they were pictured in GW's Book of the Astronomican.
Astronomican titles left to right:  Ooglorg the Cruel, Psycho, and Nixan

Here's my first sculpt (awful) of a crawling zombie made out of green stuff, I did sculpt a face but my photographer is an idiot, completely lacking any photography skills.  Second is some sort of horned-cyborg dog thing I found in a bits bin.  Third is an old RT Imperial Army model that had thick enamel paint on it; I painted over the previous paint job, but he still looks like poop.

Lastly are some random GW models.  Left to right are two Empire crewmen, what I think is a D&D  female cleric, and a Talisman game thief.  I was too lazy to paint eyes on anybody this month, which I regret.  Eyes would make up for  some of their lackluster appearance.

Until next time when I hope to have a unit of Prussian Lutzow Korps Jaegers and really old Mithril Miniature models done.

Love,
Baconfat
