X-Wing Crash, Aliens, Steel Legion Guardsmen, Robots, Junk, and alot of Saxons

Happy Mother's Day Distinguished Internet Viewer,

Today I have 81 little things to show you.

First up is an Star Wars X-Wing crash scenery piece.

It's made out of an old Mattel toy that I scavenged for parts years ago.  The base is dense chip board, blue foam, plaster, sand, and craft paint.

The X-Wing got a quick airbrush, a tiny bit of blue marking, and generous stain washes.

Here are ten Old Glory/Blue Moon Plutonians.  I painted one of their heads like a candy corn to designate a leader.

Here are warriors from Uranus. :)   They are also Old Glory/Blue Moon.  They'd make great W40K IG conscripts.

For a leader, I gave one a Gargoyle Gang emblem on his jacket.

Here's an old Citadel tech ganger and some weird model from an unknown company.

The ganger has a space marine armor and an Old Glory robot arm.

Here are three Steel Legion Imperial Guardsmen, now called Astar Munchliptorium.

Here are some Wizkid models.    The robot things have Old Glory arms.  I think I will have to repaint the box shaped one, I HATE how it came out.

The panther is about the size of a 50 pound dog.

Three Antenocitis Workshop public phones and a Crooked Dice mini of a VCR, bottles, and tube tv on a tire.

Ten Saxon slingers.  All of the Saxons in this post are from Renegade and you'll notice I haven't finished the bases.  If I finished the bases, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart from Saxons I've shown you before.

Thirteen spearmen.

Six more spearmen.

Seven Saxons with chainmail and hand weapons.

Three horn blowers.

Lastly nine more spearmen.

Till next time my beloved, when I might have some post apocalyptic 7TV stuff to show you, but I never really know.

Sarmatian Heavy Cavalry, Rohir, and Brettonians

Hello,

I managed to finish a few more models.  First up are ten metal Warlord Sarmation heavy cavalry.

They might be good proxy models for LotR games as Rohan Royal Guard.

Speaking of Rohan, I finished a couple more riders.

They're back and forth by three of those silly Uruk Hai bomb things.
I also painted a few random old GW Brettonian models.

The guy on the far right has a rather high-tech crossbow.

Till next time, when I hope to have some French fusiliers, Oldhammer Imperial Guard, terrain, and more complete.

Love and Kisses,
Baconfat

Perrry Burgundians, Reaper Tool Bots, Riot Police, 40K Servitors, Oldhammer Spearmen, Brettonian Crewman, and a few Plants.

Hello,

I have managed finish another 30 minis and really hope to break the 500 mark this year.  First are some plastic Perry Mercenaries crossbow men.

Here are five Heroclix police officers.  I liked the original sweat shop painter's color scheme and tried hard to match the original colors.

Here's some long out of production metal Citadel fantasy minis.  The Empire spearmen have Fireforge shields.  I'm pretty sure the shirtless guy was a Brettonian crew man.

Here are six of the stupidest models I've ever painted.   GW's undead servitors cyborg slaves are extremely cartoony models.
I don't know how they have the strength in their putrid bodies to raise those giant robot lobster claws.
Regardless of my disdain, I've managed to collect 17 of the ugly things.  I think they can fix tanks in 40K games or deliver a rather nasty pinch.
Here's five of Reaper's diminutive "tool bots".  They took about ten minutes to paint.

Lastly, a small gathering of useless terrain.   Maybe it could be used for that new game Frostgrave.  The plant things are little bits of terrarium plants, that my cat Cthulhu stole from our tarantula cave.

Till next time, when I'll have some Rohan riders that forgot to make it to today's scheduled photo shoot.  There'll be more Brettonians, maybe Sarmation cavalry, a tank?, and a Napoleonic French guest appearance.

Love and Kisses,
Baconfat

Riders of Rohan, Perry Plastic Archers, a Mechwarrior Repaint, and Used Terrain

Hello Fine Internet Connoisseur,

Today I've finished painting some GW LoTR plastic Riders of Rohan.  I actually started painting a dozen, but somehow one escaped during the painting process.

They're posing near a piece of extruded foam terrain that I picked up used and am curious who made it.
 Here they are running away.
A close up, I dropped the standard bearer guy and bent his spear tip.  I tried bending it back into shape and broke it off; so now its held on with far too much superglue.

I painted five Perry plastic archers from English box set.  I really don't like painting the studded armor.  It's incredibly difficult to paint thirty little studs without slapping metal paint all over the cloth beneath.

I also repainted a Mech Warrior model to be used not as a behemoth, but as a robot for 28mm games.   He's painted quickly
bows are of no use against my mighty warbot of many guns.

He was also a victim of a fall; my primary suspect is a black cat, who haunts my hobby table and drinks my paint water.  See the little blue Fosters beer can shaped blue thing at the top of his left gun arm; when I found him on the floor the white one on his right arm was missing.  I wasted approximately 27 hours searching for the missing piece.

Till next time, most beloved viewer, when I hope to have some French and Prussian Napoleonic mortar teams completed.  There may also be some red space marines for my stupid plan to paint one model from every space marine chapter.

Love,
Baconfat

Maximus, Basilisk Crew, Space Marines, and Heart of Africa Game

Hello Dearest Viewer,

Not many new paint jobs completed, but I did get to play in a big Heart of Africa game.
First up is the General Maximus from the movie Gladiator, on foot, dog, and mounted with dog.  They're painted for a friend, based off screen shots from the movie.  The pink shrub was my special touch.  The models are Warlord (I think) and wasn't impressed with the foot model's cape (boringly flat) and the horse (softer metal horses need two points of contact with base not one).  If the user isn't careful the horse model will eventually break off at the single ankle.

I didn't finish my unit of French lancers, but I did manage to finish a few random 40k models.  Four space marine scouts (no chapter yet), two German looking Basilisk crew men, and two Rogue Trader plastic beakie marines.

the two terribly painted beakies are based off art in the Rogue Trader book:  a Flesh Tearer and a Field Police.  I'm not sure the Field Police were supposed to be a chapter or the evolutionary precursor to the chaplain.

Regardless of wether Field Police are a chapter or not, I'm counting them as one.  I now have 10 different chapters painted, 990 left.

In more exciting news I managed to play in a fun Heart of Africa game.   The game was a meeting engagement, with the Arab/local force as the notional attackers.  There were three objectives:  two baggage piles (worth 5 vp each) and a village worth 10 pts.  To take the village, you must have more models inside at quitting time.

In the below pic, good guys are on the left, top to bottom: warriors, askari, Arab swordsmen, askari, Arab swordsmen.  The opponents, European villains are on the right: warriors, 4 askari units, and another large warrior unit.   I made the village from scratch.
better view of some good guys.

The master game gamemaster and of the evil green shirted European generals, together with his evil troops.

One can see another evil general shaking in fear as the valiant Askari and Arab swordsmen advance to the objective he's already taken in the first or second turn.

The particularly brave troops I am leading advance towards the village and marvel at my amazing hobby craft.
I will build you one of these villages with removable huts, complete with removable tops, for hundreds of your dollars.  Just email me and I will start building and ship it to you after the delivery of the hundreds of dollars.

Here the cowardly enemy advances much slower, in great fear of the beautifully crafted village.

See how well the right wing of righteousness advances and the evil warriors fiddle about.

a close up shot of their evil fiddlyness, their general orders them to urinate on the objective.

The heroic General Allen has our Godly left wing advance to some rocks and an ill Fate causes  them to sit there long enough to almost finish the paint job.  They're actually great, the shields are my favorite.  I didn't take any pictures because they are my favorites, and not yours.

We advance confidently and righteously into the village.  Some of my troops hop inner walls without penalty because I don't always listen well and missed a rule for several turns.

Part of our right wing, led by the Great Steve changes their mind and plans to join me in the village.  They mostly stand around alot, because my Satan cursed hands touched their movement dice.

Our right wing Arabs line up and the evil fiddlers fiddle.

Our left wing, still on their open ranks formation inspection break, see Askari musketeers advancing to take our objective.

Oh dear, this is when I sharted.  The enemy swarms into the village and one thing I don't like is a fair fight.

Our goodly left wing awakes from their nap and charges a wall of muskets.

Everyone on the right wing has moved around.  Several European sharpshooters have arrived to keep our Arab brothers from advancing towards the urine soaked objective.

The horde of spearmen charged my Arabs to be mowed down with short range musket fire.  They did make contact and killed a few of my martyrs.

Finally the evil warriors charge our right wing.

Please notice the lack of evil warriors in the village.  God ordered me to slaughter them and then surround the enemy commander.   The enemy Askari can't get in range to take good shots at my Askari avoiding contact in my side of the village.

The valiant heroic left has annihilated the enemy.

With numerical superiority and my extreme handsomeness we own the village.

Our heroic left owns the left objective.

The right wing will probably lose the melee, but we still own the field with 15 victory points to 5, when  the villains call it a day.

A random picture, with the top falling off of a hut, this strongly irritates our gallant gamemaster.

Till next time when I really promise to have more minis painted.
