Late War WW1 Germans

Hello,

Not alot to show you, but I did finish a few models.   It was too sunny to take great pictures.

First are some late war Germans, made by Great War Games.  Just a mish-mash of officer, weapons, and staff, as I have no idea what ruleset to play with them.

The foolish picture taker failed with the half ass blue background.

More Germans, with and without packs, that in both uniforms giving the unit some variation.

Lastly an ancient GW/Citadel Chaos wizard from the '80s painted quite mediocrely.   I should've dusted the flock dust off him before taking the pic, but the photographer is extremely lazy.

Dacians, Empire Archers, Rogue Trader, and Terrain Progress

Hello,

Firstly are four Foundy Dacian bolt throwers.  Sadly there are only two crew options, but I can't complain as they were quite a bargain compared to the nicer but far more expensive Warlord Games models.

I've recently finished some more models from the lead mountain.  Second are some metal GW Empire archers, from the 80's and 90's.  My rather large Empire horde was previously archer free.

 And a couple old Bretonians (I have no desire to learn how to spell that correctly).  The guy on the right apparently needs a little touch up already.

Here are some ancient Rogue Trader/40K models.  A halfling from the Adventures line, a penitent (now called penal legion), a old inquisitor wearing an elaborate toilet bowl around his neck, and a model labeled "Punk"from the Adventurer range.  They a posing on a terrain bit I've been working on.

Here's a few ugly pieces of furniture I made out of balsa wood.  Hand crafting furniture is tiresome and the results are blah.  I'll be making an order from Ainsty Castings, so my post apocalyptic models have proper furniture to sit on between battles.

Here's the latest post apocalyptic building I've been working on.  The sunlight was so bright outside that it completely blurs out all the rubble.

Rifles, Terrain Bits, a Couple Zombies, and Fame

Hello Fine Blog Aficionado,

I finished up a few models recently.  First are some old Foundry British Rifles painted to be in the 60th.  I didn't finish their officer in time for the photo shoot.  I believe they're Perry sculpts.

Here are a few repainted clix of the Joker (in a stupid hat) and the Mad Hatter (with a hand swap).  The Penguin and Kingpin were previously posted, but I wanted to see the gang together.  Hopefully I'll find some more minis in suits somewhere in my junk pile to enlarge this well dressed deformed gang.

Here's another British rifleman of unknown manufacturer.  Not a terrific sculpt.

And a couple more Wargames Factory zombie Vixens.  I don't think I'll be painting anymore zombies for a while.

Lastly is a 25 year old Citadel Wizard (#26 from the 1988 Blue Catalog) in between some GW plastic LOTR bits.  Either a Perry or Aly Morrison sculpt.

He's got some sort of metal hand and an eye patch.

Oh, I forgot to mention earlier that Wargames Illustrated practically did an article on me, issue 306.  Well actually they probably ran out room and only included the one photo, in which they somehow cut out my beautiful face.

I'm not the bald man in suspenders.

Austrian Grenz and Hittite Archers

Hello,

Finished some more minis today, thanks to the long weekend.  First are some old Ral Partha Hittites.  They're actually Syrian Hyksos Archers working for the Hittites.  They're still sold by Iron Wind, but at a steep price of $2.50 each.

They've been sprayed with Army Painter Barbarian flesh, painted, then stained with different shades.  They only come in one pose, so I was hoping that the variation in skin tone would give units some more character.

Next are some Fronk Rank Grenz, mostly all AN67 and AN68 poses.  I didn't technically paint these myself.  I bought them used/painted in very poor condition.  All I did was straighten them all out, match paints for the numerous chips, wash, and base them.   The standard is missing because I can't remember were I put it.

Prussian Landwehr Cavalry, Rogue Trader, Ammo Boxes, and More

Hello,

First completed project for the day are some Foundry Prussian Landwehr Cavalry.  I didn't put the little fanions on because I didn't feel like it.  I don't know what region they're from yet, so I don't know what color to paint them.

Flee!!! It's a giant Confucius!

Next up are some old Rogue Trader era GW models.  Starting on the left is a Chainsaw Warrior model, an "Adventurer" female model labeled "Mad Punk" (she has a Vox), an Imperial Garrison Trooper named Kylla Condotti, and an Imperial Light Trooper named No-Face Fargo.  Chainsaw Warrior was a 1987 GW game where the players traveled around post apocalyptic New York killing zombies and mutants.

They're all standing in front of munitions crates I painted; no idea of manufacturer.   They'd make decent objectives for a sci-fi game

Next is mash up of some spikey plastic mage knight monster thing and a GW two faced mutant head.  On the right is a repainted heroclix Penguin model with some GW guns added.

Three Old Glory War of Religion handgunners.

Lastly are two GW fantasy dark elves attacking an old Grenadier human.  The elves are very stupid models; the weapons being so big that it's ridiculous.

I hope to have a unit of Austrian Grenz up next week as well as some random miniatures.

Foot Sergeants, Crossbows, Archers, Zombies, and Shipping Containers

Hello,

It's been awhile since I posted pictures of toys.  Here are 16 Fire Forge brand Foot Sergeants.  Need to start buying decals; painting shields takes too long.  Fire Forge plastics come in boxes of 48, so I'm going to make 16 crossbows! (no stupid shields) and 16 spearmen next.

On the far right is an Old Glory (OG) Tuetonic Foot Sergeant I painted at the same time to see how'd they match up.  They don't OG versions are smaller and all wear the same exact outfit.  The OG are extremely quick paints though.

 Next up is a mix, left to right:  OG Hussite crewman, OG Hussite hand gunner, 2 OG crossbows, and 3 old Grenadier Crossbows (came out shortly before they went out of business).

Five Grenadier archers, wish I had more of these models.

A smathering of Games Workshop (GW) models:  OOP metal Greatsword, 2 OOP plastic duelers?, 2 plastic artillery crew.

Four plastic Wargames Factory Zombie Vixens, a long OOP GW metal Commissar, a lonely Victory Force zombie dancing the robot.

Here's a bunch of mobility shipping containers I got super cheap at a NHMGS Enfilade Convention.  They were about $.17 cents a piece, probably being factory rejects, but still a pleasure to paint.

Darkest Africa Terrain: Tembe and Village with Huts

Hello,

I haven't posted in quite awhile, because I've been busy making a friend some terrain.  He's running a Darkest Africa game next weekend at the Caminorealgamers convention: Gameday 2K13.

The first up is an African Tembe, with a removable roof.   The main entrances are not complete.  Please ignore the out of period minis.

I sculpted little bits and bobs.

Here is a small walled village.

The huts are removable, so that they may be used in other scenarios.

The hut roofs are removable, but the interiors aren't really done and they all really need doors.

The huts will nest in each other as well.  The roofs are made out of painted cloth and are stackable for storage.
