WWI Germans, Mouth of Sauro, Oldhammer 40K Guardsmen, an Emperor's Spears, a Mercenary, and Oldhammer Empire Spearmen

Hello,

I have posted recently, but I have finished painting a number of minis.  First up are 16 Wargames Foundry WWI early war Germans.

These painted up quickly because I didn't paint the piping.  I've read that piping was reserved for more elite troops.  On TMP they argue a lot about what color the uniforms were.  I'm going to believe all of them are correct and use color variations to tell units apart on the battlefield.

Here is a machine gun crew firing under the watchful eye of Mouth of Sauron.  Its a unusually static model from Mithril Miniatures.

Some people paint unit insignia on the canvas helmet covers.  That's insane.  My helmets will look the same on the front as on the back, as you can see below.
Here are twelve plastic GW Empire spear men.  I think they are Perry brother sculpts.  I tried to paint them in a Landsknecht style.  I will be pretending they are Landsknecht with training pikes.
Did you know Games Workshop destroyed the fantasy setting of the "Old World"?  Yes, it was destroyed, sucked into some demon warp plane of non-existance.  Everyone died.  It's gone.  The few survivors live in some weird other dimension and the human armies are magic dudes in space marine armor.
Here are nine old metal GW Necromunda Cawdor gangers.  I think they have "autoguns."
The internet says they are religious zealots.  I wish I had painted them up in monk colors.  It would have been more fitting.
Here are nine of the original plastic GW Imperial Guardsmen.
Only several hundred left to paint.  I must have painted over 800 in this same stupid paint scheme of Necromunda Spiders, from the Rogue Trader book.
Pew, pew, pew! go the Spiders fighting Cawdor gangers, "Pew, pew, pew, to you bad naughty gangers, pew, pew, pew!"

I also found and painted four more old Rogue Trader gunners/commanders.

I'm up to eleven of these standing around guys; I hope I don't find more.

Lastly one more space marine, in my paint one of every chapter project.  The internet told me he's an Emperor's Spear.
Someone on the internet said Space Marines don't have genitals.  This ball-less behemoth is next to an old metal Grenadier halberdier; he'll be signing on with my Burgundian mercenary company.

Till next time, when some of the terrain, Sarmatian cavalry, Burgundian crossbows, Bretonnian crewmen, tiny robots, blah, blah, might be done.

Dwarves, WWI French, a Hittite, Oldhammer 40K, and some Colonial Terrain

Hello Fine Viewer,

Today I have finished a few more models and terrain pieces.  First up are four Ral Partha dwarves with crossbows.  There are two missing dwarves missing from the Iron Lords box set.  I don't know what I've done with them.

Here are some Battle Honors WWI French.  I am out of these models and will have to find more French, maybe Old Glory.

An Iron Winds Metals Hittite (Ral Partha), I hope he wasn't supposed to be one of my chariot riders.
Four old Imperial Guard minis.  The guy on the right is a penal legion chap with the exploding collar.
 Who gives prisoners lascannons?
I knocked out four small buildings for Afghan, India or Africa games.

Till next time, when I may have WWI Germans and some terrain bits.

love,
Baconfat

Ral Partha Dwarves, Oldhammer Imperial Guard, Random Minis, and a New Terrain Project

Hello,

I apologize for not posting more frequently; I'm often to lazy to take pictures.  I've managed to pictures of few minis and dragged myself to a computer.

First up are six dwarves from the end of Ral Partha.  The were for the Battle System game and came out of a boxed set called Iron Lords Orc Foes.
I'll be painting up more of these guys.  They are lovely sculpts, despite the lack of poses.  I believe they would match up great with the GW LotR guys if I put them on GW pedestal bases.
A random selection of old GW Imperial Guard models and a space marines.  I believe the two multi-melta guns are no longer "legal" for IG armies.  I didn't assemble the standard bearer, but it was a clever idea drilling a hole for what standard.  Of the three medics, the squat is my favorite.
The standard bearer is a plastic model from the original IG box set.  The marine is called a Legion of Damned and I didn't grab a back pack when I found him in the FLGS bits bin.
The first model is a clicky prepainted Heroclix model of Blade the vampire hunter.  He received a paint job after surviving 20 test pilot missions as my clear coat aerosol test model.  If you can survive 20 missions you get a new paint job.  The lady is old RAFM Cthulhu investigator.
The guy with hooks for hands is detective JJ Arms, who was famous for finding Marlon Brando's kid.  He may have also been famous for having no hands. I tried to make his base look like leaf strewn asphalt using green tea leaves.   There's two more WWI Germans and a couple old old Ral Partha orcs.

Everyone was posing behind this new building I made.  The Indian terrain in a recent Wargames Illustrated inspired me to make cheap knockoffs of the buildings in it.  It's just hot glued foam core board with the paper removed.  After assembly, I simply covered it in spackle and primed it.

I loved these little staircases and they are super simple and fun to make.
The brick work is quickly made using a pen in the foam and painting over it.  The door is coffee stirrers.  The roof beams are BBQ skewers; I should have put them in before plastering the building.  The skinny little windows were cut out with a hot knife.

Till next time, loved ones, when I shall have more dwarves, WWI French, Oldhammer IG, the Mouth of Sauran, and probably some random whatever.

Love and Kisses,
Baconfat

Fireforge Tuetonic Sergeants, Random Minis, and Pike and Shot and Zombie Massacre!

Hello Dear Distinguished Viewer,

Before an exciting game of Pike and Shot and Zombie, I have a few finished minis for your viewing please.  First up are 16 Fireforge plastic Tuetonic Sergeants.
Only two of the shield designs are invented be, the rest were all found via Google.
Here's two Wargames Foundry WWI German Officers and two Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals Hittite Javelin throwers.
I try to give my models wearing very little clothing flesh tone variations to disguise the lack of model pose variation.
A GW LotR hobbit model (no clue which one) and an old metal GW dwarf beserker found in the FLGS bits bin.

I did not paint the Mageknight zombie, but I did paint the Reaper Invisible Man.
All I did for the zombie was rebase him on a clay base stabbed to look like bricks.  I tried to glue a little grass in some of the cracks to make the bricks look old.
Here's a Eldar War Walker (?) I also couldn't bring myself to repaint.  The original owner spent quite alot of time on it and I couldn't bring myself to destroy their hard work, so all I did was add texture to the base.

Now on to exciting old world zombie action captured in a series of fuzzy photos.

The game is a continuation of an exciting campaign using the Pike and Shot and Zombie rules.  The mercenary gang in search of the Hidden Valley has finally arrived.  The promised village of safety has requested the gang travel to the Hidden Valley Ranch and search it for tomes of forbidden knowledge.

You may see the estate is clearly full of walking dead enclosed by the estate walls.

After dithering about the gate for several useless turns, the team has decided to just get on with it.  I can't remember all the characters' names and will make some up.  Pepe the Giant Killer, Carl the Beer Slayer, Fritz, Kieth, and Captain Hauser are joined by Allen with his enormous halberd.

Emboldened by initial success, the team moves boldly forward.
Distracted by all of the zombie slaying the photographer forget to record the action where Pepe and Fritz cut off from the group and put down a spawn point.
This mission is going to be a piece of cake and who doesn't like cake?
Zombies hate cake.  Spawn points appear on the hill.
Another appears by the remains of the small fortress.
The zombie horde on the hill grows, as another appears in the forest behind the team, cutting off what would be a wise escape.  Fritz and Pepe move to close it, while the rest of the gang decides how to deal with the swarm.
The gang decides to back out for a bit.
The spawn point is no match for the team's combined strength.
The noise has gotten the attention of some foul beast in the fortress.  The beast casts a spell on Carl the Beer Slayer, our one member who can actually use a bow;  Carl believes this hosebeast is a beautiful women; he's in love.
The gang wades into the growing horde.  If Carl is getting married, there might be cake!

Incredible rolling, obviously inspired by the promise of cake, the gang destroys 50 odd zombies in a turn or two.
Nasty mean monster man summons evil demon girls with claw hands and pointy needle tails.  And another pack of zeds, which I forgot to photograph.  Fritz sharts.
Carl breaks out of his puppy love stupor and uses his longbow like a .50 Cal Ma Duece.  The team forms a line and wipes out the demon ladies.
All that's left is Big Ugly and his hyped up zombie pack.
The evil ugly one jumps down and smashes into our gang.  Here the gang is working together.  Rumors of cake in the castle and competing to kill the most zombies, Kieth and Allen,  leave the team to fight the boss their selves.

Here's a picture of after the action.  Kieth has killed 31 dead all by himself.
The gang has defeated the liche type giant evil guy thing.  It was close Carl, Fritz, and Pepe were all one wound from dieing and face the potential for permanent wounds and possibly lameness.  Good news though Carl the Beer Slayer found an evil looking book, mission complete, big money reward.

Till next time when I'll have some action from the Heart of Africa and possibly some old dwarves painted.

Hugs and Kisses,
Baconfat
